Looking for the Best Bag Vaporizer? Volcano Bag vs Arizer’s Weed Vaporizer Bag
Weed vaporizer bags or balloons are a great way to intake your cannabis vapor. They allow the vapor to cool down to your desired temperature before taking a hit. Moreover, you no longer need to worry about your session lengths since the vapor stays in the bag just waiting to be consumed at your leisure. But then which device is the best bag vaporizer in the market?
This article will compare two iconic desktop dry herb vaporizers – the Arizer XQ2 and the Volcano Classic. The XQ2 is a versatile desktop vaporizer with multiple accessories at your disposal. The Volcano Classic on the other hand is known for its famous volcano bag design. First, let us compare these devices, then some of the accessories they have available, and hopefully, we can declare which of them deserves the title of the best bag vaporizer.
About the Devices
When the product is from Arizer, you know it will be amazing. The XQ2 is the new and upgraded version of their previous hit Extreme Q. As mentioned above, it is a versatile vaporizer that allows you to inhale the vapor via a silicone whip, a weed vaporizer bag, or even an aromatherapy bowl to set the mood in the entire room. The vapor quality is pristine due to the borosilicate vapor path present in Arizer’s devices.
The device uses a ceramic convection heating system to heat your herbs to the exact desired temperature. An inbuilt multi-speed fan allows you to enjoy an assisted draw even when you are using the whip instead of the collection bag.
Now, one must talk about the build quality of this device. The XQ2 looks like a futuristic piece of hardware. However, if this device is built anything like its predecessor, I am sure this too will last several years just like it. It is sleek and can inconspicuously fit into any room without giving away its true purpose easily. Moreover, the LED light panel on the bottom allows you to set the mood to what you want or spice up your vapor session just a little bit more. A remote control allows you to change the settings all from the comfort of your couch with the volcano vape bag in your hands.
As the name suggests, this device is a classic. The original purpose of this vaporizer was to fill up the collection bags with vapor and enjoy the buzz at your own pace. Unlike the EQ2, the volcano bags did not need a cap to keep the vapor inside. These bags worked with a valve system that only opened when you pressed your mouth against it to inhale the vapor.
This vaporizer uses a hybrid heating technology just like Arizer. It also has a fan to help fill the volcano bags. Unlike the XQ2 which requires a mini-whip attachment to fill up the weed vaporizer bag, these bags were built for catching the vapor directly from the machines. Thus, one could say, the only vapor path in the machine is the loading chamber through which the hot air passes. This would give you a vapor quality quite like the XQ2.
Now, let’s talk about the design. It is quite rustic, a contrast to the futuristic design of the XQ2. This rugged machine comes in 3 colors – black, silver, and gold top, the black one looking slightly classier than the rest. Unfortunately, though, this device does not have precision temperature or even a digital display for that matter. It comes with a knob that you turn to adjust the temperature and two switches to turn on the heating and the fan respectively. Another point of concern is that there is no automatic switch-off feature. Thus, you can end up damaging your herb loading chamber if you leave the heat on for too long without keeping an eye on it.
Accessories
While each of these devices has a range of accessories, we will focus only on the ones pertaining to the weed vaporizer bag or volcano vape bag ones as that is the focus of this article.
The great thing about the XQ2 is that there are a ton of accessories right in the box. To use the volcano bag, you first need to attach the connoisseur bowl either on the side of the flavor bowl or the cloud bowl. Over this, you need to add your mini whip with a bend. Finally, you can add the bag with a glass mouthpiece and turn the fan on to fill up your bag. The products included in the bag for the collection bag system are the following –
- Glass Connoisseur bowl x2
- Glass Mini Whip (w/o glass filter)
- Balloon Connector
- Balloon Bags x2
- Balloon Caps
- Glass Balloon Mouthpiece
- Tuff Bowl Grips x2
Of course, there are other accessories in the box too, but they aren’t needed while trying to vape through the weed vaporizer bags. The Tuff Bowl Grips are a great addition as they insulate the connoisseur bowl from the hot vapor flowing inside and make it easier to hold. So, what are the other accessories you can buy other than just replacing these parts?
You could replace the connoisseur bowl with a glass tuff bowl which is specially made to be insulated from heat making it easier to handle. Moreover, unlike the normal glass bowls, these don’t break as easily. You could also buy a glass mini whip with an added filter for better filtration.
The main concern is the balloons that you may need to replace often. You can get 6 extra balloons for a price of around $15. It would also be great to buy the Balloon Cap Pack (Pack of 4) for an additional $30 since the box only comes with one of them. Similarly, you might want extra Balloon Connectors (~$15 each) if you are planning to have social vaping sessions.
Like the XQ2, you get a few accessories with the Volcano. The following are the ones related to the volcano vape bag system –
Easy-valve balloons x5
Easy-valve loading chamber
And that’s all there is to it. Part of the beauty of the Volcano is the simplicity of using it. Of course, you can buy additional parts of this depending on how many people you want to share this with or how often you vape. The filling chamber (easy-valve chamber) itself is about $66 while the housing costs only $7.5. You may need to buy this should you ever damage these parts. If you just want to replace the balloons, that will set you back about $54 for 6 easy-valve balloons.
It is worth mentioning that the easy valves are made of plastic. If you want something a bit more solid to enhance your vaping experience, you can try the Solid-Valve set. This would come with a whole new filling chamber as the easy-valve chamber can’t be used to fill the balloons anymore. Furthermore, you would only get a single balloon with a mouthpiece, and a solid valve. You also get a balloon tube, with cleaning brushes, and glass filters. All this for a hefty price of $111.
Final Thoughts
The Volcano Classic and the Arizer XQ2 are two great devices to use with volcano bags. One of the deciding factors may be that the XQ2 is about half the price of Classic. While the ease of use is definitely a big plus for the Volcano, the XQ2 comes with much more accessories, is more versatile, and is even more aesthetic than the Volcano Classic. Because the advantages in favor of Arizer vastly outweigh the disadvantages, in our opinion, the Arizer XQ2 is the best bag vaporizer in the market. If you are convinced as well, go to the store and buy one for yourself now!
